okay some of you know that the day after i saw/met/experienced Henry, i got canned from my job...its a long story but the job wasnt for me. so now what...i've been tooling around the cubicle jungle for over ten years and i'm as clueless as i was in the late 90's when i started getting 'real' jobs...i admire Henry's work ethic that keeps him going but that's something i could never do...i dont mind work but i want a life too.

so, i started thinking...its a tough economy and shitty job market. i could do freelancing type of work...i've been a writer all my life so that is a very viable option...but then again...i was thinking about using my voice to make money as well...as a legit voice actor...or ....phone sex.

yep...i'm not married or a mother so there's no chance of scandalizing my family. i live alone and have a landline, ive got nothing to do all day besides surf the net for jobs and pester temp agencies for work, and i have what many call a sultry voice....why not?

so...if you've read this far...please comment...do you think that phone sex actressing is worth getting into as a freelance career?

or am i just fucking crazy and need to suck it up and apply at wal-mart for the season?

Hey Raequel, I'm sorry you lost your job.

If you're comfortable with it you should go for it! You can always stop if you don't like it. Just promise me this, if you do it, start a blog and write about it! You could monetize the blog too, to help bring some extra dollars in.

Have you looked into being paid to write blog posts for larger blogs? Here's one good blog job board you might wanna check out if you're interested: http://jobs.problogger.net/

Go for it. It's as legitimate a job as anything and at least you won't be a rat in the maze anymore. There's no reason for you not to if you really want to do it.

I think if I were in your shoes without the ties that bind so to speak I would look at temp agencies.

No, really, hear me out.
Tell them that you're NOT looking for permanant work that you want real temp assignments. Things like two months here or a couple of weeks there. Things tend not to get boring and you can give yourself a week or two off between assignments as you will have saved up a little cash for them knowing that they are coming. Temp agencies salivate for people who are willing to do this because most people in the working world are looking for temp to perm options only or long term temp options at the very least. You will probably never have a time where the phone isn't ringing ready to set you up with your next assignment. This also leaves as much time as you want to travel as you won't be restricted by vacation time.

Alternately, depending on where you live, you could look into something exciting like the United Nations, the Peace Corps, Green Peace and similar organizations that actually will pay your room, board and travel expenses to go work with them. Then you also get a chance to travel and help out.

Can you tell that I envy your freedom? Use it! Don't think smaller, think BIGGER!

As a former Walmart employee, I second the PLEASE DO NOT WORK AT WALMART request. If I didn't have a family, I would not have lowered myself to that level.

The job market is hard right now, but don't sweat it. I'm sure something will come up.

First off, PLEASE DON'T WORK AT WAL*MART!!!

For your own sanity,if nothing else!

I'm not sure if 'sex actressing' is the right thing to do either, but you could always give it a shot! XD

I'd love to work as a freelance writer myself, but in today's world I have to hold up a joe job too. I just had to suck it up and stick it out until someone finally called me for an interview.

I wish you the best of luck in finding a new job.:D
